Practice prepositions of place (in, on, at) with interactive fill-in-the-blank exercises. This unit is part of the foundations level of our English grammar course, designed for PTE and IELTS test takers.

1
Prepositions of place tell us where something is. We use 'In' for enclosed spaces or areas with borders, like a box, a room, a city, or a country. For example, 'in the kitchen' or 'in Japan'.
2
We use 'On' for flat surfaces. This can be a table, the floor, the wall, or a street. For example, 'on the table' or 'on the wall'.
3
We use 'At' for specific points or locations, especially if we are there for a specific purpose. For example, 'at the bus stop', 'at the door', or 'at school'.
