What's Inside EngSandbox
EngSandbox is not a single exercise tool; it is a complete practice environment for the academic English skills PTE and IELTS actually test. It includes:
- Vocabulary Builder — 3,100+ academic words drawn from real PTE Fill-in-the-Blanks and Write from Dictation items, with spelling drills, audio, definitions, collocations, and word families.
- Grammar course — four levels from Foundations to Mastery, plus a five-level Advanced Grammar writing course mapped to band 6.5–8.
- Idiom practice — 100 essential idioms with meanings, origins, and contextual examples.
- PTE drag-and-drop — 65+ re-order paragraph and fill-in-the-blank questions built on a structured solving framework.
- Text-to-Speech Studio — paste any text and hear it spoken with natural AI voices, entirely in your browser.
- Study library — in-depth articles on IELTS and PTE strategies, grammar guides, and vocabulary lists.
Every feature is free, works offline after loading, and tracks your progress privately on your own device.
How Our Content Is Created
Our exercises and study guides are built from official test formats and reputable sources such as the Academic Word List, Cambridge assessment research, and published exam materials. Each article and exercise is reviewed for accuracy and usefulness before it is published, and we update content as the tests change.
We do not sell user data, and we do not hide practice features behind paywalls. EngSandbox is supported by unobtrusive advertising so that effective practice remains accessible to everyone — no matter their budget.
Editorial Process — How We Review Articles
Every article by the EngSandbox Editorial Team follows the same human-in-the-loop process. We disclose AI assistance as secondary to human review: Assisted by AI, human reviewed + field tested.
- Draft from trusted sources — we start from official PTE/IELTS band descriptors, the Academic Word List (AWL), Cambridge assessment research and published exam materials. Claims cite real studies and sources where relevant; we do not hallucinate citations.
- Human review & edit — an editor experienced in PTE/IELTS tutoring checks facts, example sentences and strategies against scoring guides, removes generic AI phrasing, adds tables, FAQs, collocation notes and 2–3 internal links, and verifies word count and reading time.
- Field test & update — we test exercises and strategies with learners, collect feedback, and update the article. Each article footer shows the byline and Last updated date; material corrections are made within 7 days of a report via contact.
Who is the Editorial Team? We are a small remote team of English tutors and product builders focused on PTE/IELTS practice. Rather than a single byline with unverifiable credentials, we publish as a team so every article reflects collective review. For questions about an article or to request a correction, please contact us — we aim to reply within 2–3 business days.
Articles display author name EngSandbox Editorial Team linked here via /about#editorial-process. AI assistance is disclosed in the author bio; the substantive expertise and final accountability are human.
