We use superlative adjectives when comparing three or more things, to show which one is at the extreme limit (the highest, the lowest, the most).

The rules are similar to comparatives. For short words, we add '-est'. 'Tall' becomes 'tallest'. For long words, we use 'most'. 'Expensive' becomes 'most expensive'.

A crucial rule: We almost always put the word 'the' before a superlative. For example, 'He is the tallest boy in the class' or 'That was the most exciting movie'. The irregulars change again: 'good' becomes 'the best', and 'bad' becomes 'the worst'.
