Practice present perfect continuous: duration of ongoing actions with interactive fill-in-the-blank exercises. This unit is part of the mastery level of our English grammar course, designed for PTE and IELTS test takers.

1
We use the Present Perfect Continuous to focus on the duration or length of an action that started in the past and is still happening right now. Structure: 'have/has' + 'been' + verb-ing.
2
For example, 'I have been studying for three hours.' This emphasizes the time spent studying. We use 'for' and 'since' with this tense heavily.
3
We also use it for actions that recently stopped, but have a visible result right now. For example, 'You look tired. Have you been working hard?'
